Interviews

A personal interview provides an opportunity for you to meet directly with a university official or a representative from the scholarship committee. Preparation is key to performing well in these interviews, and it involves two main areas: Understanding Yourself and Understanding the University (or program, job, scholarship, etc.).

  • Skills & Abilities: Be ready to discuss what you do well and what you bring to the table.
  • Personality: Highlight what makes you unique and sets you apart from other candidates.
  • Values, Dreams, & Passions: Share what excites you, what you care about, and what drives you.
  • “Tell me a little about yourself.”
  • “What are three of your strengths?”
  • “What are your short-term and long-term goals?”

By understanding these areas, you'll be more confident and able to present yourself effectively during the interview, demonstrating both self-awareness and genuine interest in the opportunity.
